A History of the Kimble & Ellesborough Horticultural Society 1860-1996 by Mervyn Rees

Mervyn Rees was a prominent member of the Society, becoming an Honorary Vice Life President.  He was asked to write a history of the Kimble and Ellesborough Horticultural Societies and his research enabled him to piece together their sometimes sketchy evolution from the Velvet Lawn Cottage Garden Association.   His account includes some interesting facts from the balance sheets, show schedules and minutes of the period which cast a fascination light on the times.
