AGM & Talk on Euphorbias - Probably the Best Garden Plants in the World
Tuesday 03 March 2026
19:15 to 21:30
7 15 pm AGM
8 00 pm Colour in a Small Garden
Timothy Walker, former Director at Oxford University Botanic Gardens and now lecturer in Plant Sciences at Somerville College, Oxford, is always a very informative and entertaining speaker. He declares that the title of the talk is intentionally down beat since nobody really needs to be convinced of the supremacy of spurges as garden plants for every situation. This talk explains some of the natural history of euphorbias and their botany. For example, why are there so many? It then details some of the most desirable species and cultivars and suggests some planting associations.
