Show Report

Well what a show, the sun was shining with a constant stream of visitors all afternoon.

Last year our regular floral art judge, Christine Townsend, announced she was retiring then the flower judge we had arranged, Ernie Hull, sadly passed away.  The day before the show Chris, who looks after the refreshments for the visitors, hurt her back. Thank you to Su Coghlan who volunteered to take over this very important job, and a very big thank you to Jenny Summerfield for finding some new judges.

We had 16 members displaying 91 entries including entries in the new arts & crafts classes, hope to see more next year.  The main winner on the day was Louise Richardson winning the Wingletan Cup and the Spring Challenge Trophy. Dave Ridgway won the pot plant trophy and was awarded best in show for one of his daffodils in the six vase championship class. The  Ray Taylor cup was won, much to her surprise, by Laura Ells.

Thank you to all the entrants and helpers who make our Spring show one of the best in the area, it is up to you to keep it going by entering.
